This App will enhance your enjoyment of the Bluebell Railway’s Museum at Sheffield Park in East Sussex by giving you more information about the displays and artefacts in the museum as well as more information about the history of railways. It will not replace a visit to the museum but will enable you to gain more information on items that interest you most.

Download it now before your visit and enjoy the Railway even more.

The information on the App can be accessed by either the use of the QR bar codes you will find around the museum or by use of the options that will appear on the App screens. To help you a QR bar code reader is automatically provided with the App.

In addition to the extra information about displays and artefacts there is also information about recent additions to the museum. This enables regular visitors to the museum to plan a visit to see the addition and then find it quickly.

From the options on the introduction screen you will also be able to obtain information about events at the Bluebell Railway and significant anniversaries in the history of the Bluebell line and railway history generally.

The App can be downloaded in the museum. Because of the museum’s location the download speed is likely to be not as fast as from a home connection. If possible it is better to download the App before visiting the museum.

The entrance to the museum is an original Victorian waiting room and within is an extensive museum. The visitor will find a wide and diverse range of railway artefacts and displays along with a signal box built in 1866, videos about railways, a computer signalling game, a model railway and the opportunity for children of all ages to dress in railway clothes. Outside steam trains pass by as the visitor enjoys the museum.
